Acappella Suite Hotel, Shah Alam — A Fresh Visual Update

Recently, I photographed Acappella Suite Hotel in Shah Alam after the hotel completed several updates to its interiors.

The brief was to create a fresh set of images that reflects the property as it looks today — covering the exterior, lobby, rooms, swimming pool and its extensive collection of meeting spaces.

One thing that stood out during the shoot was just how many meeting and function rooms the hotel has. From smaller meeting rooms to larger halls, each space has a different scale and configuration.

Photographing these spaces was less about making every room look dramatic, and more about making them easy to understand visually. For someone planning a meeting, seminar or corporate event, the photographs should quickly communicate the size of the room, seating arrangement and how the space can actually be used.

The same thinking carried through to the rooms and common areas. Rather than photographing everything from as many angles as possible, I focused on establishing views that give a clear sense of the environment — how the rooms connect, how spacious they feel, and what guests can expect when they arrive.

Acappella Suite Hotel is located in Section 13, Shah Alam, around 15 minutes from Subang Airport, which also explains the importance of its accommodation and meeting facilities for business and corporate guests.

For me, this project was ultimately about updating the visual representation of an existing hotel.

When a property changes, its photographs should change with it. New images give guests a more accurate first impression, while giving the hotel a stronger and more relevant set of visual assets for its website, booking platforms, marketing and corporate enquiries.
