A modern workplace should do more than accommodate work. It should encourage interaction, provide moments of pause, and create an environment where people genuinely enjoy spending time.

Designed by DMX Change, the Persol Kelly Malaysia office at Menara AIA Sentral embraces this philosophy through a hospitality-inspired workplace concept. Instead of conventional rows of workstations and enclosed offices, the design introduces a series of flexible spaces that support collaboration, focus, and informal gatherings.

Visitors are welcomed by a reception area framed by a sculptural curved ceiling and a lush living green wall, immediately establishing a softer and more inviting atmosphere. Moving deeper into the office, the heart of the workspace unfolds as a café-like communal zone filled with hanging greenery, natural timber finishes, and varied seating arrangements. The integration of biophilic elements helps to blur the boundary between workplace and social space, encouraging employees to connect, recharge, and work more comfortably throughout the day.

Private discussion pods finished in muted green tones provide quieter settings for focused conversations, while meeting rooms and boardrooms maintain a refined corporate character through the use of clean lines, textured finishes, and carefully controlled lighting.

From a photographic perspective, this project was particularly rewarding as the design offered a rich composition of curves, layered greenery, contrasting materials, and human interaction. Rather than documenting the office as a static environment, the intention was to portray how the spaces are experienced and occupied in everyday use.

Persol Kelly Malaysia demonstrates how contemporary workplace design is evolving beyond functionality, creating environments that prioritise well-being, flexibility, and a stronger sense of community.
