In their new Mid Valley outlet, Russell Taylors brings a vibrant interpretation of modern home technology — a space that celebrates the everyday appliance as a lifestyle object. Designed by Desir Design, the store redefines what a homeware retail environment can feel like: sleek, futuristic, and immersive.

The design’s signature elements — the bold suspended orange lighting ring, floating shelves, and softly curved display islands — create a continuous visual rhythm. The balance between matte textures and chrome finishes plays an important role in defining the store’s identity: both dynamic and approachable. Every line, reflection, and highlight has a purpose — to draw focus to the products without overwhelming the senses.

Photographing this project presented an interesting challenge: the chrome surfaces reflected the surrounding environment, picking up multiple hues from ambient lighting and internal color sources. To preserve the purity of the design intent, I spent time refining the reflections and color tones, removing unwanted casts while maintaining the authentic metallic feel. The result — a clean, true-to-material finish that enhances the architectural clarity and maintains the designer’s intended palette.

This marks my first collaboration with Desir Design, and it’s been a rewarding one — their meticulous attention to light and surface details aligns perfectly with my photographic approach. Together, we captured not just a retail interior, but the visual essence of a modern lifestyle brand.
